32 Gang Suspects Charged in Brooklyn

Charges Stem from Violent Crime Spree

Indictment Details 106 Felony Counts

NEW YORK -- Prosecutors in Brooklyn on Tuesday charged 32 people who they said were members of three violent street gangs that terrorized neighborhoods in and around Brownsville, engaging in a string of shootings, robberies, and drug dealing.

The suspects, ages 16 to 25, were arraigned on a 106-count indictment charging them with murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, robbery, weapons possession, and drug trafficking.

According to the indictment, the gangs — known as the "Brownsville Terror Crew," the "East New York Terror Crew," and the "Fort Greene Terror Crew" — worked together to control drug trafficking in their respective neighborhoods.

The charges stem from a yearlong investigation by the NYPD and the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office. Prosecutors said the investigation uncovered a pattern of violence and intimidation that plagued the community for months.

"These gangs have been a scourge on our community," said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. "They have terrorized innocent residents and committed heinous crimes. We will not tolerate this violence, and we will hold these defendants accountable for their actions."

The arrests and charges send a clear message that law enforcement is committed to combating gang violence in Brooklyn. The investigation and prosecution of these cases is a major victory for the community and a step towards making our neighborhoods safer.
