The Interstellar Medium

- Hot Ionized Gas: This diffuse gas is heated by the radiation from nearby stars.

Interstellar space also contains an enigmatic form of matter known as dark matter. This invisible substance is believed to make up around 85% of the universe's mass, but its true nature remains a mystery.
